Classic Minnie Mouse

So for the past couple years, I've been wanting to be the vintage classic Minnie Mouse! You know, the one with the red hat and flower sticking out? The reason being mostly because it seems so easy, and very cute! I looked it up everywhere, and no one has actually done it online! Maybe they have but no record that I can find! Here was my attempt!

All you need is are a few things:

A black turtleneck.

White gloves.

A blue polka dot skirt.

Black pantyhose.

Yellow heels.

And last but not least a Minnie hat. This is  the hardest part. Get Minnie ears(they sell them everywhere) with a bow, but remove the bow and make a felt red hat. And a fake flower from a craft store.

There you go! You got yourself a Vinatge Minnie Mouse!  All you gotta do is paint yourself and nose and you're done!

See, easy! Hope you guys enjoy the last day of October! Be safe this Halloween!!!!

West Elm Wish List

I constantly have a wandering eye for living room furniture! And West Elm never fails to bring in style. This is currently whats on my wish list!

Oh man! This sofa is awesome in so many ways! The color, and style can transform any room!

This rug is just sooooooo fun! The yellow is amazing!

This pendant is so simple, but yet so stylish! I can see it in every room in my house!

What a cool pouf! I love the pattern!

This white media console makes all the other media consoles look so bland! So clean and modern!

Have you checked out West Elm lately? If you haven't you should. They have some amazing stuff at the moment! (but when don't they!)

Fabric Chandelier

When I was working on set a couple weeks ago with The Girls With Glasses, we went glamping! We decorated everything very bright and a bit bohemian. We got this amazing tent from Shelter Co. and it all just came together from there.

All the bright colors from the tent decor gave me an idea to make a center piece for the room. I kept thinking of an idea but just couldn't put my finger on it. The day before we filmed, I went to a store in Atwater Village called Sew L.A. If you see the image below, you can kind of see their fabric chandeliers. So that gave me the idea to make my own for the glamping tent!

To be honest, I didn't get to spend as much time in the store as I wanted since I had a lot of things to prep for the shoot, but I did glance at it enough to get the idea of how it was made! (oh, and I will be back at Sew L.A.. Their fabric patterns are amazing!)

Anyhow, I will be making a tutorial of the fabric chandelier soon. I did think of doing it while I was in the process of making it, but prep days before shooting is always a bit crazy that I all I was thinking about was just getting it done. To be honest, it's so very easy, and fast! I think I did it in about an hour, or so.

This is the overall look for our glamping! I was in love with this tent set up! And stay tuned for the tutorial! I promise I will post soon!

So the time is almost here. We will be leaving for Europe next week! We can hardly wait.

I don't think I have ever been on a flight that's been over 6 hours. here are a few things I will be taking with me on the plane as a carry on.

1.The Right Bag

I  would opt for a messanger bag, or a backpack. Soemhing that will make carrying arounf thr airport easier! This bag from J.Crew is a great size and color.

2. Comfy Clothes

Make sure to wear comfy clothing! I would recommend a tank top, a sweater, and stretchy pants. Things you can move around in, and fall asleep in too. This sweater and pants  look like the perfect combo to me!

3. Snacks!
This one is an important one! Sometimes the snacks they have on an airplane just isn't enough. Make sure to take extra fluids, and something with protein to get you through the long flight.

4. Entertainment
This can be whatever amuses your brain. For me, it would either be books or magazines. But this can also be your ipod/ipad, or portable dvd player. Where'd you go, Bernadette seems like a fun light read for a plane trip.

5. Pillow

I can not say this enough, but a pillow makes a whole lot of a difference! Having your head supported  by something does wonders! Brookstone sells a travel set. P.S. I have also heard eye masks are amazing! May be doing that!

I'm sure I'll think of more things I can possibly bring. But for now, these are my essentials. I'm so very excited! And our family is just so fabulous to house sit while we are gone. Wish me luck and lots of prayers since I've never traveled on such a long flight. Is there anything else you recommend taking? I think a sleeping pill may be in order!

Industrial Garage

One of my favorite designs is industrial. I love the look of it, but it doesn't necessarily work so well with my hosue. I wish it did! But then the other day while I was in our garage looking at it helplessly, I thought, "when I remodel our garage, I can totally give it an industrial feel!" I got so very excited. I am not in the process of working on my garage yet. But it does need major help. The walls are dark blue with unfinished white paint rolled over. The flooring is cheap black and white checkered tiles. I tried to remove some tiles but it's very stuck on!

I  also recently cleaned my garage out, so I guess that's a start. My car can finally go in! But I definitely want the garage to look more organized with shelving and more deigned. I mostly want the garage to be used as storage/laundry room. Since I'm not working on this garage soon, I thought making a mood board would motivate me. And it has because I want to work on this garage of!

1.industrial shelf pendent
3.colorful storage baskets
4.vintage clock file cabinet

As you can see, I went industrial, but with pops of color. I am really hoping to do something very similar to our garage. Eeeek, I can't wait!

Scrabbling Scrabble

If you don't know this already, I love Scrabble...a lot! I find an excuse to add scrabble into my life any way I can. Recently I made a cute sign for house. Scroll all the way to the bottom for pictures and tutorial. But before I get into that, here are a few of my scrabble things I have made, or purchased!

This is a cake I made for my husband years back, it was a hit since we both love scrabble!

This is a travel size mini scrabble I used to carry around when I was younger! I was big nerd, and how can you not love this tiny little board game!!!

Scrabble mugs! Yes, you heard right! I ordered these online and was in love with them!! Oh, and the very bottom of mug has the triple letter score square! Gah! See, I'm obsessed!

But recently, I made a little cute sign for our house! It was of course pinterest inspired, but I think the ones I saw online were from etsy. Not too sure though.
Things you need:
black acrylic paint
thin brush
6" x 6" wooden squares (from craft store)

I first got actual scrabble letters, and decided what I wanted my larger scrabble squares to spell out. I went with: home.
Then, to paint them on. I got black acrylic paint from the craft store and used a thing brush. I decided to do it free hand so I figured the thinner the brush, the more accurate I could be.

Not exactly perfect, but good enough. I did a few more touch ups after this. Also, don't forget to add the number points on the bottom right corner. That will bring the whole scrabble feel together.

Once it dried, I hung them on the wall. It makes the upstairs more complete. I love it so much! Very easy project, and you can make it say whatever you want! It's a very inexpensive project too, and a very unique piece!

These boots were made for...

Fall season is here, and of course all I think about are boots! I always love me a good pair of boots, but I always think there are boots for every occasion! Is that just me?

Anyhow, I think I want all of these boots!

  • I just love these black booties because they seem versatile.I can see myslef wearing them with a skirt/dress or even with some nice skinny jeans.

  • These lace up troopa boots are exactly what I have been wanting for quite some time. They give so much personality to a simple t-shirt and jeans outfit!

  • And the blue artistic touch booties are a definitely a unique pair! The color is just so different, but subtle. The match the grey/blue skies on the fall cold days.

  • One of my all time favorites are riding boots. I cannot get enough! They make outfits just look so classic! I have some dark brown ones, but I am soooo tempted to go for the carmel tan!

Are you stocking up on boots yet? Let me tell you, there are some great ones out these season!

Have you guys ever tried
I never have actually, but when we were planning our trip to Europe for this month, we couldn't decide whether we should hotel it, or try the hype on Airbnb. To be honest, I was a bit nervous to try but we took the plunge and booked through Airbnb.

I love the apartments we booked! So much charm and character!! Gahhh. But it was a little hard to find something. The site is super user friendly, but  a lot of people are offering their place so you kind of just have to browse through a lot. But I can't complain too much, I kind of love options!

Anyway, I will just have to wait and see how the whole trip goes so I can give my overall input, but so far I love the whole process.

Here is a little glimpse of where we are staying

Edinburg, Scotland

Paris, France

Hope you have had a great weekend so far!

My playlist these days are a bit more mellow, but somehow it turned to really sultry music. Haha! My moods change, but more than anything my music constantly changes! But I love that I can get into everything. As long as it has a good beat, I'm usually in!
