My fear with cakes with characters is that I will butcher the character. I know you've seen those cakes where the character looks a little crazy, and you're not quite sure who it's suppose to be. I try and try until I send a picture to my whole family and they reassure me it looks fine. (I know, I'm a little crazy!) But overall, I was happy with this cake. A lot of behind the scene stressful moments( another post on that) but had nothing to do with the cake, more time management and figuring out motherhood. Making this cake also made me super excited because I hope to make a 1st cake for Jonah when the time comes. Way ahead of myself, but it's fun to think about.

Last month I made my first Elmo cake. Kind of hard to believe I've never made one, but it was my first. And it just so happened to be for a 1st birthday. I was a little intimidated to make it, but I also enjoy challenging myself especially if I think I'm capable of accomplishing the overall look. It was a 2 tiered cake and an Elmo face smash cake.
